COVID-19 & Central
As the situation with COVID-19 continues to unfold, this page is your main source for the most up-to-date news in
regard to our worship services, schedule, and virtual Zoom opportunities.
Unfortunately, due to the rapid increase of COVID cases, we will not have in-person worship until further notice.
Join us at our regular time on-line. This restriction does not apply to S.T.A.R. activities or the Palmetto Moravian Fellowship which is held in the Cannon Memorial Chapel, and only meets once a month. If you have any questions, please contact the church office. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.
For those activities that are taking place in-person, masks must be worn that cover both your nose and mouth, and a distance of six feet or greater between yourself and others must be maintained at all times.
Remember our "ten commandments" for safety and health.
Sunday morning services are live streamed on Facebook and posted to the website.
The Upper Room Sunday school class meets on Zoom at 9:30 a.m. Contact Paige for the Zoom meeting information.
Audio and video versions of the services are posted here each week.
Lent at Central
Normally we observe Lent by meeting in the sanctuary for prayer, singing and a sermon. After that we go to the Fellowship Hall for a simple meal. Obviously the pandemic will not allow for us to do these things safely this year. Instead we will do our work together on social media. Ash Wednesday Worship on February 17 will be recorded and available on Facebook at noon.
You may of course view it anytime here on our website.
Each Wednesday, after Ash Wednesday throughout the 40 days of Lent, we will begin studying (on zoom) with Tom Norrell, Pastor, some ideas and feelings from the devotional, Lent with St. Francis, by Diane M. Houdek.
Please see the newsletter or email us for the Zoom link.

Music for Home Devotions
Members of the Chancel Choir are recording music for your home devotional use. Every Wednesday night, since September 16th, we have been meeting in the sanctuary from 7:30-9:00 PM, socially distanced and masked, recording a couple of hymns and an anthem. As well, Brian Dailey, our organist, is recording the prelude and postlude. All of the music is chosen with the idea of elucidating the Gospel reading for the following Sunday. So grab your Bible, read the scripture verses for the coming Sunday, and then sit back and enjoy the musical responses we have recorded for your use. You can sing the hymns along with us at home. Sing like no one is listening! And if you are alone or with your significant other, sing without a mask!
These recordings are posted on Wednesday each week on the church’s website here and on our Facebook page.
Audio of past devotions is available here.
