We invite you to worship with us!
Worship is one of the highlights of ministry at Central UMC. You may join us on Sundays at 11:00am, in person in the sanctuary or live on YouTube. Whether the choir is singing, handbells are playing, or there is an organ solo, inspiring classical music and worship is a part of who we are. Our traditional service includes hymns, prayers and the Lord's Prayer, children's message, offering, anthem, creed, Scripture lesson, and sermon.
Where can I park?
There are several parking options: Central's parking lot; the St. John Street Parking Garage, which connects to the church driveway and entry points; and parking lots on North Church Street, across from Central.
Where is the sanctuary?
Ways to enter the sanctuary include: through the church doors on North Church Street; from Central's Education Building into the main building door; or through the courtyard entrance. A handicap accessible entrance is available through the courtyard and then by following the sidewalk through the playground area.
Are children welcome in worship?
Yes! Children are welcome in worship, and you'll find children's activity bags and worship bulletins inside the sanctuary doors. There is also a children's message during the service. (Parents are welcome to come with their child!) Following this time, children may leave to participate in Children's Church in the Education Building. Children are also welcome to stay in worship, and we encourage parents/guardians to share the worship experience with their children.
For babies and very young children, nursery care is available in the Education Building during the worship hour. The nursery/children's church room is located at the end of the hallway on the right. Jennifer "Scotti" Killian and a church volunteer provide a warm, loving, and safe environment for our children, while teaching them about God's love. Our children's staff and volunteers are background checked and have received Safe Sanctuaries training.
