This Christmas at Messy Church, we’ll take a journey inspired by The Polar Express. Through fun games, crafts, activities, storytelling, and a petting zoo, we will be reminded that the true magic of Christmas isn’t found in bells or trains, but in the amazing gift of God’s love made real in a tiny baby born in Bethlehem. We'll start the morning with free brunch and then embark upon an unforgettable celebration of Christmas together. Come join the journey on December 20 from 10am-12pm at St. James UMC. Tickets not required, just hearts ready to believe!

This Messy Church Christmas celebration will be at St. James UMC. St. James UMC is located in the Woodland Heights neighborhood of Spartanburg at 213 N. Lanford Road, Spartanburg, SC 29301. There will be elves to help direct you to the Fellowship Hall once you park on the St. James UMC campus.
Can I drop my kids off at The Christmas Express?
This is not a drop off event. Adults are responsible for their children throughout the duration of Messy Church-The Christmas Express. Hopefully, you will have just as much fun as the children!
What should I wear?
Christmas pajamas are welcome and encouraged! Those traveling on the Polar Express wore their pajamas on the train. Come as you are most comfortable, but know that we love being festive and cozy on the Christmas Express.
What will we be having to eat?
We will have a delicious kid-friendly brunch to start our journey on the Christmas Express.
What can I expect?
We will start the Christmas Express with a kid friendly brunch. After a time around the table, everyone will be invited to explore stations and activities related to our journey and the Christmas story. The conclusion of our time will include an interactive telling of the Christmas story followed by fun with animals at a mobile petting zoo.

The fun at Messy Church is meant for people of all ages. Messy Church is a kid-friendly environment that invites everyone to explore faith together. During the Christmas Express, our journey will be an exploration of the Christmas story together. Whether you are young or old, all are welcome at Messy Church!
