From the Choirmaster's desk...
The Chancel Choir has enjoyed providing Music For At Home Devotions for several months now, Our plans will shift over the next two Wednesdays as we use our Wednesday nights to rehearse and record music for Good Friday. There will be no Music For At Home Devotions this week or next, but during the week of March 29th the Chancel Choir will provide you with a musical meditation for Good Friday. This week and next we will record excerpts from Arthur Somervell's The Passion of Christ, with a focus on the "Seven Last Words" section of his cantata. The choir will sing beautiful hymns and choral meditations on the traditional seven last utterances of Christ from the cross. These recordings should be available on the church's website by Wednesday, March 31st.
Grace and peace,
Keith

In September, members of the Chancel Choir began recording music for your home devotional use. Every Wednesday night, the choir meets in the sanctuary from 7:30-9:00PM, socially distanced and masked to record musical selections. All of the music is chosen with the idea of elucidating the Gospel reading for the following Sunday. So grab your Bible, read the scripture verses for the coming Sunday, and then sit back and enjoy the musical responses we have recorded for your use. You can sing the hymns along with us at home. Sing like no one is listening! And if you are alone or with your significant other, sing without a mask!
These recordings will be posted by Wednesday each week on the church’s website and on our Facebook page.
