| Mission Central
United Methodist Church is a Christian congregation whose mission is to live and
to proclaim the gospel as we grow in Christian faith, nurture each other, and
reach out to people in our community.
Our
goal is to be disciples of Christ.
In
order to fulfill our mission and accomplish our goal, over the next four years
we will seek to achieve the following:
To
grow in Christian faith we will
- strengthen
our youth ministry
- enlarge
our children's ministry
- expand
opportunities for Bible study, worship, prayer, and Christian education
- provide
Sunday School classes for all ages
- emphasize
stewardship of talents, time, and money.
To
nurture each other we will
- improve
our ministry to inactive members
- strengthen
the Wednesday night fellowship
- provide
ministries and support groups for those in need and/or crisis
- find
ways to have communication with the congregation and the community
- encourage
volunteerism and provide leadership training to support volunteers.
To
reach out to people in our community we will
- strengthen
our evangelism ministry and our care for visitors
- offer
day care programs for children
- continue
our Asian ministry
- investigate
the establishment of
- a
parish nurse program
- day
care for seniors citizens
- Sunday
school for autistic children
- a
singles ministry
- adopting
an inner city school
- after
school programs for youth ministries for other ethnic groups
- explore
opportunities for collaboration with other churches
- explore
opportunities for ministries with the local colleges.
