Central United Methodist Church is committed to loving God and loving neighbor with our whole selves-heart, mind, soul, and strength. We believe that all persons are of sacred worth and dignity as part of God's creation, as demonstrated by the ministry of Jesus Christ. We therefore welcome all persons into the life and ministry of our congregation. We welcome, affirm, and celebrate people of all races, cultures, ethnicities, ages, sexual orientations, gender identities, socioeconomic status, education, physical and mental abilities, or faith histories.

Lenten Study

Beginning Wednesday, March 1, Cam Treece and Paige Wolfe will offer a six-week Lenten study using Rev. Adam Hamilton’s new book titled Luke: Jesus and the Outsiders, Outcasts, and Outlaws. In his book, Adam Hamilton explores the life of Jesus as told in the Gospel of Luke. Through Luke’s stories we find Jesus’s care and compassion for all as he welcomes sinners and outcasts. As we study Luke and see Jesus’s concern for those who were considered unimportant, we hear a hopeful and inspiring word for our lives today.

The class will meet each Wednesday evening at 6:30 pm in the Upper Room Class for approximately one hour. If you would like to purchase a copy of the book, you can order it directly on Amazon.com, or you may call the church office, and we can order it for you. Publisher is Abingdon Press. Cost of the book is $19.99.
